Maihama sits on the waterfront of Tokyo Bay in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, and is best known as the home of Tokyo Disney Resort — Japan's most visited theme park complex. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea together attract over 30 million guests annually, with DisneySea widely regarded as the most beautifully designed Disney park in the world.
Beyond the parks, the Maihama waterfront area offers a resort atmosphere with boardwalks along Tokyo Bay, the Ikspiari shopping and entertainment complex, and several luxury resort hotels. The area is conveniently connected to central Tokyo via the JR Keiyo Line, making it easy to combine a Disney visit with a wider Tokyo itinerary or a relaxed bay-side stay away from the city's intensity.
Best Time to Visit
Spring (March – May) — Pleasant weather and special Easter events at the parks. Weekdays outside Golden Week have shorter queue times.
November – December — Spectacular Christmas illuminations and seasonal events transform the resort. Evening light shows over Tokyo Bay are at their best.
January – February (Weekdays) — The quietest period with the shortest wait times. Cold but manageable with layers, and special New Year events add extra charm.

- If choosing one park, DisneySea offers a more unique experience with its Mediterranean harbour, volcanic mountain, and attractions not found at any other Disney park.
- The Disney Resort Line monorail loops through the entire resort area and is worth a ride even just for the bay views and themed station designs.
